Be a living tree, constantly spreading out new growth.
The stronghearted soul says:
“There is sunshine in my life and I have every chance to throw out shoots and branches of accomplishment.” ~ Paramahansa Yogananda
We are delighted to share a new vision for our 2026 GLYTA Annual Teachers’ Retreat and to extend a special invitation to all graduates of the GLYTA School of Yoga.
For the first time, this retreat is opening beyond long standing GLYTA members to include graduates who have not yet joined the Association. This year, we are introducing a dedicated Continuing Education component, and we want to make this meaningful new opportunity available to our broader Golden Lotus teaching community.

We invite you to watch a special video message from Kendra and Kaye sharing more about the heart behind this year’s retreat and the exciting new vision for our GLYTA teaching community.
A New Vision For Our Time Together
In reimagining our annual retreat, we are moving beyond a simple gathering to create a weekend of directed methodology in specific new teaching practices. These are designed to help our teachers expand their offerings and deepen both professional and personal mastery.
This year’s retreat will focus on:
- Chair Yoga
- Meditation Preparation Exercises
- Fellowship and spiritual renewal
- Support for expanded teaching opportunities
As we are taught in our training, Hatha yoga postures look different for every body. This continuing education focus reflects our desire to help more people experience the healing, accessible, and spiritually transformative benefits of this sacred practice.
Why Chair Yoga?
Chair Yoga continues to grow in relevance and demand. It has consistently appeared among the top fitness trends in national surveys and remains one of the most searched yoga related offerings online.
It serves as an important entry point for beginners, older adults, and those with limited mobility, while also opening meaningful new teaching opportunities for our graduates in a wide range of community settings. Expanded teaching opportunities abound.
